{"id":196,"date":"2014-03-15T17:17:56","date_gmt":"2014-03-15T17:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ozpod.com.au\/?page_id=196"},"modified":"2014-06-26T15:23:15","modified_gmt":"2014-06-26T15:23:15","slug":"sustainability","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ozpod.com.au\/?page_id=196","title":{"rendered":"Sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018<strong>It will be a wasteland if we don\u2019t recycle<\/strong>,\u2019 stated a four-year-old child as he carefully searched for the triangle on the bottom of a plastic bottle and sorted it into the <a title=\"Get it Right on Bin Night\" href=\"http:\/\/www.getitrightbinnight.vic.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">recycling bin<\/a>. \u2018It\u2019s got a triangle five, woohoo!\u2019 he exclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>As we near the end of the <a title=\"UN Decade of Education for SustainableDevelopment (2005-2014).\" href=\"http:\/\/www.unesco.org\/new\/en\/education\/themes\/leading-the-international-agenda\/education-for-sustainable-development\/\" target=\"_blank\">United Nations Decade for Sustainability 2005\u201314<\/a>, it is encouraging to note the marked increase in sustainability initiatives on a local, national and global scale.<\/p>\n<p>Young children around the world are demonstrating awareness of their impact on the environment and ways to minimise it.
